Winners - (plus updates on travels and the Twinkle Nests!!)

The summer is flying by - how can it be that it is almost August! And on top of that -our babes are growing up so quickly - look how big Maddy girl is now at almost 3 years old~~

Maddy is wearing a little skirt that her Auntie Vicki just finished for her. (a link to the pattern is on my sidebar - it is the same little skirt that I made for our grand daughter Keri Beth.)

Maddy has been looking forward to drawing the winner of the Vera Bradley weekender bag. For the last few days she has been asking me -"are we drawing winners today?" She could not wait to put on her new skirt and take pictures - she is totally briggity!

She is sitting in the little chair that I made for her- (we will talk about the chair later - that is a whole post in itself~~!)

After much playing and acting silly~~

~~we finally have a winner for the Vera Bradley weekender bag -a gift for one of my devoted followers. Maddy says that the lucky winner is Audrey whose blog is The Magic, Miracles and Joy of Being an Artist.Congrats to you Audrey - I'll send that bag right off to you! Thanks to you ALL for being part of my blogging family. You truly mean the world to me. I do have one more BIG surprise planned for my followers - so do keep watching for that!

(I have posted the winner of the wonderful cookies from the "Where Blogger's Create" contest here - on that post.)

After Maddy picked the winner - she said that we were going to have a tea party. She told her Auntie Vicki that she was serving tea, and eggs, and soup, and ice cream, and~~ coconut! (!!!!)

~~

~~

Her kitty cat - Hank, also came to the party! She said he liked to eat coconut. ( I have no idea where the coconut obsession came from - I think it is the word of the day~~!)

~~

She is really growing up isn't she? (gosh - I can hardly believe it!) Our little Keri Beth, at 15 months has just started walking - (I'll have some new pictures soon). It is so hard to live some distance away from your grandchildren. Keri Beth is almost 2 hours away and our Mason is 8 hours away. I know those of you who have grandchildren totally understand how hard it is to be away from your precious babes~~

Some updates~~

My newest travel feature will be coming out sometime next month on the Living Better at 50 website. I'll be taking you to the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The entire city is surround by a stone fortress wall that is centuries old. I will share with you some incredible views as we "walk around the city from atop that ancient wall." When the feature is published - then I will share with you here a full photo essay of our day spent in Dubrovnik. The photos are incredible~~

And then~~ it is finally going to happen!! The Twinkle, Twinkle nests are ready to share with you all! You can look for them to appear here on my blog sometime around August 5. They are limited - only 15 of each color - and they are spectacular.

I can hardly wait to share them with you all and to tell you about the special place that will benefit from the charity proceeds! Because each nest is unique - I have Lots of photos and I am frantically working on them now.

~~

So - in case you think that I have just been relaxing by the pool all summer~~

NOT!! See you soon with the travel feature and the Nests!!

xoxo, Vicki

Congrats to Audrey! And Maddy's tea time looks delicious (in all senses of the word). My cat used to like coconut (weird but true!), so Hank is in good company. I LOVE the twinkle nests! You are just the most precious thing, Vicki! God bless you and I can't wait to read about more of your travels and find out more about the twinkle nests! :)

Oh, and my giveaway ends Monday, so don't forget to go enter! :)

Let's start with a great big "CONGRATS" to Audrey. Go in style and safe travels as you carry your VB weekender.

Oh my -- Miss Maddy sure has grown up to be quite the young lady. And she sure knows how to work that skirt and beautiful chair. I love the picture of her posing near the deck railing with one foot up. Watch out for this little one. She's a charmer!

Can't wait to read all about Dubrovnik ... I know it's going to be a fabulous article containing spectacular photographs. You sure can rock a camera!

And, the nests - of course, we're all waiting for the big unveiling. Just a few more days ...

Lastly, I know this is a very very special day for you, too. I am wondering if Maddy served up some birthday cake yesterday!?! Enjoy your day, my friend.

Your blog is amazing. I can't wait to forward it to my close friend who happens to be the owner of Ana Cross Stitch which is our very fine yarn store here in Anacortes, Washington. I am excited to follow you!

Congratulations to Audrey! Indeed, time is passing quickly these days. Just this morning, my husband and I were lamenting that August was nearing the corner of the calender's page.

Maddie is growing by leaps and bounds, much like my girlfriend's daughter. Seeing their rapid changes does make one feel a bit long in the tooth!

Vicki, the delicious sneak peak at those nests is just too tempting!! Shame on you! :))) I so look forward to your next posting!! My little nest rests on an old wicker chair in the library ...I pass it many times a day and each time, think of you! :)))
