Josephine's Children --- an exciting update to the project!

Dearest Josephine,
Our prayers and especially those of your beautiful children have been answered! The gifts of supplies, crafts, and clothing items so generously donated-- are finally on their way to you. They should leave by freighter this next week and be to you by sometime in May~

Never did I expect that so many people would join together to share gifts for these precious children.  The donated items filled not one, or two ---- but three huge transport boxes!

Sue and her husband have coordinated
the purchase of supplies and clothing items,
from their home in Texas,
as well as the  packing of the boxes.
Sue credit's her husband with the amazing ability
to pack all the goods so tightly into the boxes
so that they could fill them FULL
 with all of the
donated items.
~
(please click here to read Sue's story
about the day the boxes finally left her home!)

No project ever totally goes off the way it is planned~
while the generosity of so many
has overwhelmed our hearts,
there have been some difficulties
in bringing this project to completion.

The freight company who was to have
provided transportation for the donated items--
unfortunately, became no longer a viable partner
for this project.
 Best laid plans,
and all that goes with them,
we feared that we might not be able
to bring smiles and joy
to the children~

After running into many obstacles
and closed doors,
we finally left the matter in
God's hands.
Dear Vicki,
I hope that all is well with you and your family.
Vicki, I am so very concerned about the gifts for the children.
Have you been able to find someone to do the shipping for us?
The children have been so very excited about this
and I do not know what to tell them
if the gifts never are to come.
We are all praying that all will go well
and for you and Sue as you have
given so much to this project.
Love,
Josephine
Josephine,
The prayers of the children have been heard~
God has brought us an answer
to our prayers.
Just this morning the boxes
were picked up at Sue's apartment
by the folks at a new company that has
agreed to help us.
(I am sure that she was very happy for that to happen,
as she and her husband have been stumbling
around those HEAVY boxes now for many weeks!)
~~
My heartfelt thanks to both Sue and her amazing husband
for all their efforts to make the dreams
of these children come true!
Please take hundreds and hundreds of photos
when the goods arrive for the children
and they begin to open their gifts!
Sue and I will eagerly share them with our
blog readers.
We will flood the internet world
with the blessings
of the gifts
and the smiles of the
 children.
We are so thankful that their dreams
will be able to come true.
It seems as though
we have truly witnessed a
 miracle.
 Dear Vicki,
Indeed it is a miracle!
I am reading this mail just now
and I cannot stop smiling and thanking God
for making this possible
at a time when our hope was almost fading.
We were all so worried and had put our joy
at a stand, but we prayed silently
and God has answered our prayers.
The children are going to be so
happy again!
I am ready with two cameras
with different persons to take photos!
I want every moment to be captured
and sent to you.
I can't stop thanking you and Sue (and her husband)
for all the effort, time, and energy
that has been given to this project...

no words can express that,
but the children and I have already started
to design something for you and Sue to show
how we have appreciated!
Thank you for making this happen!
You are so dear and near in our
hearts,
Josephine

Once again....
I want to thank those of you
who have contributed to this amazing project
by way of donations, financial support, and prayers.

Are these not THE most beautiful children?
Can you even imagine their hearts delight
when they begin to open the boxes full of
treasures?

Please pray for the shipment of
these gifts as the long journey begins across the waters
from Texas to Uganda.
Hopefully, sometime in early summer,
you will be looking at photos
of happy children...
gleeful in their excitement of all
the love that can be held in
three (huge!!) boxes
and....
all of your generous
hearts.
xoxoxo
Vicki

A note from me~
We have just returned from a wonderful cruise to warm places.  Fortunately, we missed much of the snow and freezing weather while we were gone -- but you know how it is with "paybacks"--- the day after we returned home -- we were slammed with about 14 inches of snow! As much as I am not a fan of winter -- the snow truly was beautiful, so heavy on the trees...

It is good to be back home, many projects strung all over my craft room!!  If you are on the Shabby Chic nesting list --yours are in the works now!  Spring is just around the corner ~ I truly believe this!
my love to you all~

Prelude ---- to a Snowbird Nest

so pure...
    so white,
          the most beautiful creation,
                        SNOW

words cannot describe
the delicacy of one tiny little flake
falling to the ground...
so fragile~

one of the few redeeming
qualities of winter is
the true and absolute beauty
of snow~

there is nothing
so magical as looking out your window
and watching those first flurries
falling to the ground~
(this beautiful snow owl vase was created by my friend Julie Whitmore)

 when the snow builds up
outside our houses,
we are enveloped inside our own warm
little nests~~

it is the time for
fuzzy slippers, a cozy blanket,
and a cup of
steaming hot cocoa~

 the snowfall is silent,
so slow--
with a delicate whisper,
it settles upon
 the earth~

white and weightless,
the snow makes no noise~

it falls on the fields gently,
blanketing everything with its
 pure and silent
covering~

"I wonder if snow loves the trees and fields...
it covers them up snug, you know
with a white quilt;
 and perhaps it says,
Go to sleep, darlings,
till the summer comes again"
-Lewis Carroll

sleeping softly through the day,
 never making a sound,
only waking up
when the sun goes down,
that is when little Snowbirds
come out to play~

she opens her eyes
ready to fly,
wings at the ready
on the edge of her nest...

 she flies from the forest
into the night
her path lit by the light of the moon~

Coming next January
just in time for the winter snows...
an exciting new addition
to my Designer nest series--

 Soon to come--
the beautiful, icy, glittery, white
Snowbird nest.
~~
each little nest will come with it's own
beautiful glass
"Snowbird"
~~
you may reserve yours now if you wish
(there will be 30 to share)

Just keeping it real~~

I would have to pick one of the coldest days of the year
for this photo shoot!
Took me all day to take these photos
as I could only stay outside about 10 minutes at a time!!
I think I wore 3 layers of clothes!

Are you ready for spring yet? I am so ready! --- between the cold, the icy roads, the threat of icy roads, the gray days, ---- I am desperate for sunny and warm. Sigh~

I've been busy working on the little Woodland nests all winter, -- those of you on the list, should have heard from me by now.  Soon, I will be starting the Shabby Chic nests -- so if you are on that list -- you will hear from me soon.

Thank you to everyone who turned out for my third "Grow Your Blog" party.  We are off and running and it has been a wonderful experience already for so many new bloggers.  There are over 300 blogs participating.  If you would like to make some new blogging friends, you are invited to visit the party list and travel the world of blogging! (the link to the party is on my sidebar).
Thank you especially to all my volunteers who helped me this year -- almost 40 people were needed to help me monitor this year's party!  So many of you have emailed me to say that your readership has grown already and some of you have actually doubled your followers!  I am so happy for the success of your blogs and that you are beginning to enjoy the rewards of blogging.

For the next few weeks, I am taking a little blog break --   This has been a very, very, busy winter -- with nesting, long hours spent on the blog party, and... I've had some awful something that has hung on forever ---
I'm going to take some time to feel better, to begin to work on the photos for our virtual travels to the Gaspese, and to find the sunshine...
If you need me -- I am always here-- vboster1@windstream.net.
Love,love,
Vicki
