Vintage Baby Story Gift Tags

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes--- the baby shower! Between the knitting and the baby shower planning, this little grandma is burning the candle at both ends! These little baby gift tags made from a vintage Beatrix Potter children's book are my newest treasure. Aren't they just adorable?

Wouldn't they be lovely displayed at the baby shower somehow? They would be so cute as a focal point of the decorations.

I would love to hear your ideas about how these little treasures might be used and displayed at the shower. My blogging readers are sooo (!!!)creative and I just know that you can all help me with this little project.

So set your minds in motion and share your ideas with me about how to best display these little gift tags~~~~

And also - could you please share with me your thoughts about how to use these in the baby's room after the shower? I am so excited to hear your ideas!

Don't you just love the little one that says "the end"!
~~~~~
I want to thank everyone who took the time to share with me your ideas about how to use the little blue cabled blanket. I really appreciate your show of support in the thinking that this would be a loving gift for a little baby girl! Thanks to your creativity, I now have some lovely plans for the blanket. I will be excited to share with you the new little girl cabled blanket soon! In fact, I plan to share the whole baby shower experience with you all. Consider that you are all invited!
  1. They would make a cute garland. You could use it at the shower and still hang it up in the baby's room. Adorable tags!
  2. These are adorable!! Hung on white branches with other little baby items like a silver cup, booties, rolled wash clothes so on.
  3. I would turn them into a bunting. make a lovely i-cord or crochet chain to attach them to, then it could be hung in the baby's room after the shower is over as a wonderful reminder.
  4. On a little fake evergreen tree--as ornaments--baby ornaments instead of Christmas ornaments.
  5. I was going to suggest the same thing that Tami said ~ a white branch with other little Beatrix Potter items. And afterwards ~ a mobile or somehow attached to a lampshade would be cute.
    They are adorable!
    Blessings!
  7. Hi Vicki!! These are adorable!!! I can see them all tied in a row onto a pretty ribbon, or clipped with little clothespins like a banner or bunting and hanging on the wall at the shower and in the baby's room!! Precious ~ I love anything baby...xxoo, Dawn
  8. Hi Vicki,
    a warm welcome for my latest follower - hugs! I really like to hear that you are enjoying my blog as I do enjoy yours. For the baby shower I would put them on ballons. You could have these ballons that fly... you know? And after that I would also make a garland for babys room with it. You could even have two Beatrix Potter figures to hold them at both ends... I think that would be a marvellous decoration, don`t you? I look very forward seeing what you plan for the baby shower. Hugs Myriam
    PS: uuups and I know what you are talking about when you speak about burning the candle at both ends lol...
  9. I think you already have some grand ideas! I just love the little tags! My daughter-in-law really loves Mrs. Tiddley (?) I believe. Is she the hedgehog? Anyway, she has a Beatrix Potter theme for our little grandson. I like the white branch idea, too.
  11. Use as decorations on a large plant, or a small tree or branches (like Christmas ornaments) for decorations.
    Make a mobile afterwards.
  15. I love the idea of hanging them with little clothes pins from a ribbon or a pretty garland and strung along the wall. I haven't read that far down, but maybe on a wreath of some sort. They also remind me of Easter (Bunnies and all that.) Maybe decorate her Easter Basket with them. The basket can be used year round for holding little baby things, then cleaned out for the big night. They could also decorate a bird's nest, which could also double as the Easter basket....
  16. I had another idea...paint Beatrix Potter characters on the wall "holding" the ribbon with the tags on it between them. Of course, that would only work if her room is going to be Beatrix Potter....
  17. I love the idea of hanging them from white branches to show them off. Afterwards wouldn't it be lovely to keep some of them and use them for presents for the coming years! ... :0)
  18. I think you should give one to everyone in attendance and have them write a quick thought, quote or words of wisdom for the mama-to-be. Then you can hang them on a little tree, or string them on a little clothesline in the baby's room, with little miniature knitted clothes on the line as well - have you ever seen those? They are adorable!
  19. I'm not that creative...I like Tami's idea.....
  20. OMG, they are soooooooooooo cute and I have to agree with the others on several suggestions...I love the tree idea, white branches with these adorable tags hanging with them, I love the garland idea as well....plus, after the shower, using the garland in the baby room. And, it looks like you have so many of them I'm sure your guest will enjoy a parting gift when they leave....give each guest a tag as well....maybe a few for us in blogland...heeheehee....this would be a grand time for a giveaway.
    Your granddaughter is already blessed.
    I'm off to several consignment/thrift stores this weekend, I am going to look for old children's books and perhaps see what I can do with them....hopefully, the same as you.
  21. These are beautiful! Perhaps you could use these for the shower guests to share "blessings" for the baby. They could write a special blessing or wish for the baby on the back of the tags. Or, they could write the blessing in a journal or on slips of paper and you could either type them and add to the back or have them added to the back in calligraphy.
    Congratulations! -Ingrid
  22. I love the idea of having each guest write a sentiment or a family memory or something of significance to them on the back. The first idea that came to my mind was a white branch -- perhaps with a bit of glitter -- strung with a strand of white lights and then the tags as the decorations/ornaments.
    Since it is a shower, perhaps a large, light-colored beach umbrella with the tags hung from the underside at differing lengths, like raindrops. (a "shower," get it? :)
  25. I love these tags! I would use them as decorations on a tree! They are so cute!
  26. Beautiful tags! How about a baby mobile. It could hang above the table during the shower and then later in the babys room.
  27. adorable - I love bunnykins:) You have given me some ideas - thanks
  28. they would be awesome as place markers at the table, letting everyone know here to sit - if its a sit down affair - another idea is you could tape a coin to the underside of one and place them at the table and the person who has the coin could be the winner of a door prize
  29. Hi Vicki, I suggust putting those little tags (if its not to late) on streamers that go across the room. They can dangle from light fixtures and make great tags on gifts. For the babys room, have them hang on a rod in the window like a valance. Make a little book out of them. Just some thoughts. God bless, Cathy
