Those Fabulous Purses~~~

Want to know more about these beautiful vintage purses? Come and visit me over at Maya's beautiful Completely Coastal blog!

Maya has invited me over to her fabulous blog to talk about my vintage purse collections. I will tell you a little bit of history regarding these designer creations - even how you can purchase one for your very own!

Do you know Maya? Her blog is devoted to all things "coastal". Gorgeous scenic photographs, the latest (and greatest) in novelty and functional coastal themed decor, amazing crafts derived from "coastal treasures" like shells and driftwood, and so, so much more!

My favorite part of Maya's blog - the incredible and beautiful photos that grace her blog header each week! Simply stunning!

Please say "Hello" to me over at Maya's place! Stay a little longer - and look around! If you can't spend the day on your favorite beach - then Maya's Completely Coastal blog is absolutely the next best place to be!

Hugs to you Maya - I am so honored to have a feature spot on your fabulous blog! I have told all of my friends that I am "almost famous!" Well - actually, I'm not but YOU my friend are! Thanks for the privilege~~

All of the photos above were made at Canaveral National Seashore in Titusville, Florida. This beautiful beach stretches for miles and miles and is famous for it's pristine undeveloped landscape. The seashore's natural shoreline and dunes are a landscape photographer's paradise.

The coastline is often rugged and vegetative. The National seashore is home to many varieties of birds and florida animals such as sea turtles, alligators, wild boars, over 300 varieties of birds and a variety of unusual plants, trees, and cactus.

~~~
We stayed very late at the seashore the day of the photoshoot. I wanted to make the photos in the evening light. We were among the last people to leave the beach that day - the Ranger blew the fog horn telling everyone it was time to leave - we were almost the only people left on the beach in our area. Right before we left I gave the camera to one of the Rangers and said "take our picture."
The drive from the Visitor Center entrance - to the seashore is about 15 miles long. As we were leaving, the sun was just beginning to set over the lagoon.
This was the view as we were driving towards the Visitor's center. The National Seashore is in close proximity to the Kennedy Space Center and the launch pad is visible as you exit the seashore.
The last of the photos were taken a few days later at Satellite Beach, where we have our condo. The Gardener was "supervising" this photo shoot!
~~~

See that building way down there? That is our condominium complex. Our beach is beautiful and is such a special place for us. The Gardener is displaying his "supervisory" skills here!

I love this picture of the Gardener and his Panama hat~~~

The sun was just going behind the dunes when this photo was made.

In a just a few weeks I will preview the first in a line of designer nests - (it was bound to happen you know!) I am hoping to show these to you around the last of September. They will be limited in their edition as I am only making 20. I can only say - they are going to be incredible~~~

Foggy Morning Nests

My little spirit, see
sets quietly in a foggy mist and gently waits for me~~~
William Shakespeare

Up early this morning while the fog hang low. Wanted to do a photo shoot before these little nests were packed up to send to their happy homes.

As I was dragging all the nests out the door and across the yard, the Gardener said, "are you crazy?" (yea, I probably am~~~)

~~~
My heartfelt appreciation to those of you who have been patiently waiting for many months for your nests. I am working so very hard to make them beautiful and special for you all - they will be worth the wait, I promise!
The Gardener has a little joke that he wants me to share with you all. (It's not funny - trust me!) "What do you call a person who has more yarn than Vicki?" ANSWER - A Yarn Store Owner. (Ha Ha!) (I told you it wasn't funny!~~~)
This has been such a busy summer! Please understand that I am "nesting" like crazy and that I do not always have time to visit blogs right now. I have to do that in between nests! I will catch up later, I promise! I just want to say that you all mean so very much to me - please don't let my absence make you think that I am no longer interested in your projects or your lives. I AM!!! I am about a third of the way through the "nesting" so far! I think that is pretty darn good!
~~~
We are headed to our special place for a few days. I am going to spend some time walking the beautiful beach and listening to the crash of the waves against the sand. I have so much to be thankful for and this is, for me, a place to find peace and to reflect on my many blessings. I have friends who need my prayers and no where is the power of the Lord more present than in the never ending force of the mighty ocean. "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me." Psalms 139
~~~
While I am gone - I will be doing that special photo shoot at the Canaveral National Seashore - be watching for that! (Oh yea, I will be "nesting" while I am away!)
