sets quietly in a foggy mist and gently waits for me~~~
William Shakespeare
Up early this morning while the fog hang low. Wanted to do a photo shoot before these little nests were packed up to send to their happy homes.
As I was dragging all the nests out the door and across the yard, the Gardener said, "are you crazy?" (yea, I probably am~~~)

My heartfelt appreciation to those of you who have been patiently waiting for many months for your nests. I am working so very hard to make them beautiful and special for you all - they will be worth the wait, I promise!

The Gardener has a little joke that he wants me to share with you all. (It's not funny - trust me!) "What do you call a person who has more yarn than Vicki?" ANSWER - A Yarn Store Owner. (Ha Ha!) (I told you it wasn't funny!~~~)
This has been such a busy summer! Please understand that I am "nesting" like crazy and that I do not always have time to visit blogs right now. I have to do that in between nests! I will catch up later, I promise! I just want to say that you all mean so very much to me - please don't let my absence make you think that I am no longer interested in your projects or your lives. I AM!!! I am about a third of the way through the "nesting" so far! I think that is pretty darn good!

We are headed to our special place for a few days. I am going to spend some time walking the beautiful beach and listening to the crash of the waves against the sand. I have so much to be thankful for and this is, for me, a place to find peace and to reflect on my many blessings. I have friends who need my prayers and no where is the power of the Lord more present than in the never ending force of the mighty ocean. "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me." Psalms 139

While I am gone - I will be doing that special photo shoot at the Canaveral National Seashore - be watching for that! (Oh yea, I will be "nesting" while I am away!)
Vicki

Wonderful to hear you are headed to the seashore. I know how much you enjoy it. I'm sure it will help recharge and inspire you. This group of nests is just gorgeous. I love all the detail with the leaves and sprigs. The gardner is too funny. I laughed at his joke!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You HAVE been busy!! "Nesting" has a double meaning to some of us. It expresses your work, but also has to do with preparing things for a new arrival...Perfect for you in both meanings! :-) Enjoy the sand between your toes!

ReplyDeletemy friend, jan, sent me to visit your webpage and to see your nests. she was right, they are so beautiful.
ReplyDeletewhat hit me the most, however, is when you were talking about going to your special place and then told (me) that it was the ocean and that no where else can you feel the power of God like you can when you hear the waves crashing against the shore.
You are Me.
That is exactly how i feel and i so long to visit the ocean and simply walk the beach looking for sea glass and special shells while praying for the ones that need my prayers the most.
I don't even know where you live but i'm thinking it's the east coast. I'm going to continue reading your blog to see what i can see. I already know that You are Me.
These nests are just stunning. You do an amazing job with these.
ReplyDeleteI just had to come over after seeing Jan from the polka dot barn's post-and I'm so glad I did. It is filled with such color and beauty!!
