Some early morning harbor views. St. Lucia is one of my favorite ports to visit. The beautiful harbor is truly so picturesque.

The Gardener and I, along with our friend Jan, hired a private boat driver to take us to a resort where we spent the most fabulous day. Jan's husband, Bob went on a diving expedition that day.
look at that gorgeous blue water!
2000 people on our cruise ship~
we were the only ones from our ship here on this beach.
You can see the bungalows up on top along the edge of the cliffs.
what a view- huh?
He went right out in the water and brought these in to polish and sell.
His favorite thing?
the "orange life preserver" that I got him for the camera!!
ahhh!
I took this photo while standing out in the water
There are 110 steps that lead from the beach up to the top of the cliffs where the resort is located.
(OK - if you are going to be whiny about it - you can call for the shuttle)
I have a thing for stairs - seriously - I love to climb stairs - so off I went - had to see what was at the top~~
Here is a view looking down at the beach from the first landing~
and from a little further up~~ I am at tree top level here~~
beautiful!
Did you like the tour? I wanted to stay there longer than our time allowed!
Sadly, our day had to come to an end. Here is a view of the resort as we are leaving - headed back to our ship.
We sailed out of the beautiful port of St. Lucia just as the evening sun was beginning to set. The good thing about a cruise is that you get to visit so many wonderful places. The bad thing is that you never get to stay as long as you want. I could have stayed on that beautiful beach until the sun was set below the horizon~~
~~~
Up next - some photos of our wonderful day spent in Barbados. I will treat you to some of the Gardener's underwater photography - (we went swimming with sea turtles!)
Vicki
It looks to me like you spent a day in paradise. What a gorgeous place, Vicki. I would have wanted to stay there longer, too. How can the water be SO blue? I am enjoying the beautiful photographs. Thanks for sharing.
It is such fun traveling with you through your images. :) Very nice!
ReplyDeleteMorning, Vicki! I'm home from SC along with Granny, and we're just unpacking and getting settled in today. I will HAVE to call her in here to see your beautiful pics! Thanks for taking us on the tour. Your pics make us feel like we are walking right along with you. Everything was gorgeous! I KNOW you had fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is funny...I was scrolling down your sidebar to see if you had added anything new...saw the picture that's been there all along of The Gardener and His Flowers. Only thing is my eyes played a trick on me and I thought it said The Gardener and his Followers. LOL! I thought, "now your husband has his own followers without being a blogger!" :)
I enjoyed your post today, as always!
How have I missed St. Lucia? It is a paradise. I see why you didn't want to leave. Love your photos! xxoo Jenny
ReplyDeleteOh Vicki, such spectacular photos. Thank you so much for sharing. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE those madras tablecloths, don't you? Can't wait to see The Gardner's photos next.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures Vicki, but where were the people?! You guys must have caught the island just at the right time!! I have friends from St. Lucia. I know how rare that is!!...Looking forward to underwater shots and sea turtles! ^_^
ReplyDeleteVicki, Thanks for my trip today. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the water is such a beautiful blue. It makes you want to go and spend several days instead of just a day. I am looking forward to my next trip with you. Take care. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDelete2000 people on the ship....I can see why you loved every moment on the the deserted beach. St Lucia is a dream world...you are so fortunate to have been able to experience this lush place.
ReplyDeleteopps guess my comment didn't go thru...darn.
ReplyDeleteJust loved seeing your trip and can see why my friends go to the islands 3 times a year.
The tea looked like a lot of fun. I think I would have overindulged myself and a diet would be in my future too. Mine never ends:)
Thanks for taking my along.
Paradise was exactly what that day and beach was to me. Thank You for allowing me to be the third wheel. LU, J
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful beach!!! Ahhhhhh, makes me want to go the beach. Maybe I'll go tomorrow. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the pics of the beach you visited in St. Lucia. I bet it felt good to swim in the warm waters after the long cold winter you've had at home this year.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have been on a trip to the tropics as I sit here in my trackie pants, slippers and a blanket over my legs as it is a bit cold. What a beautiful spot and thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteWow your photos are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteI swear my computer room got warmer and I could feel the island breezes! Thanks for the trip and the photos are superb! Glad you had such a great time!
ReplyDeleteMr. Romance and I just returned from a cruise with friends, too. Our ships might have crossed paths. We started in Los Angeles and went through the Panama Canal. We ended in Ft. Lauderdale.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a beautiful time.
Welcome Home.
Hi Vicki, wow oh wow! Anyone still bogged down with snow at the moment will love seeing your cruise to the islands. Gorgeous! It is amazing how the landscape and views are quite different between Antigua and St. Lucia. Absolutly fantastic! I love stairs too! I love hiking. Daily hiking is required when their is daily indulging involved while travelling. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the soup. I use a vege extract to season mine with. Never found any like it in the States and can't seem to cook without it now. Makes everything so tasty.
Have a great week. Tammy
what a perfect getaway. i'd love to visit St Lucia someday. thanks for the gorgeous photos. i enjoy these very much.
ReplyDeleteVicki girl!
ReplyDeleteSpent a good amount of time catching up with you and the Gardner this evening.
Sweet Up-North Mornings...
Hi Vicki,
ReplyDeletejust seeing your wonderful pics is a little "short time break" lol. Thank you for sharing. Oh, how I miss the sea.... unbelievable. Our weather is quite good at the moment - 19 degress and sunshine... hope it will stay.
The layout with the butterflies shows my little one with her first sunglasses - during a show-bus-ride in Philly 3 years ago - nice isn`t it?
Hope everybody is well at your home...
Hugs & kisses Myriam
What a paradise! I've always heard it is gorgeous...and I would love to go! I mentioned you on my blog today so I thought I would hop over here and see what you are up to! I'm glad I did! ♥♥♥ Have FUN!♥
ReplyDeleteso idyllic! I too have just had a wonderful break, having recently had some bad news of serious illness in my family, we took a last minute break to a Red Sea Resort in Egypt! The water was also warm and so clear and blue, we could see all sorts of tropical fish just walking in the ocean, we could have done with that underwater camera cover! Hugs, Catherine x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am SO enjoying your trip to the warm and beautiful Caribbean! It sounds like such a treat; would love to be there now.
ReplyDeleteHi mi dear Vicki,
And - no it was salad with the frog inside... one can only wonder how this little thing got in there... I think thats bio food *lol*.
My garden smells wonderful too and I love to be outside.
Thinking of you my dear friend while having my latte on the veranda.
Hugs & kisses Myriam
What a paradise! I'm having trouble getting all the pictures to load, but I really enjoyed pouring over all these gorgeous images. It's amazing how you had these places practically to yourself. I can't imagine how wonderful it must have felt to leave all the cold and snow behind and end up plunked right down into the middle of that heaven on earth place! xoxo ~Lili
