A Frosty Morning Blanket for Baby

gray--
      like the beautiful sky
                       on the dawn of a new winters day~

                                    the glimmer
                                               of a frosty morning~

a single leaf
              edged in icy delicate lace~~

                  soft as the whisper
                               of a silvery snowflake~

to warm the winter dreams
of babes~~

                                 A sweet heirloom blanket
made for our newest grandbabe~
Kadence Noelle
(we are calling her Kady)
~~

Her Mommy wrapped her in this little blanket
for her trip home from the hospital.
(made this gb so very happy!)

I'm obsessed lately with the color gray.
It's become my very favorite color.
What do you think that says about me???
Boring??
(say it's not so!)

~~~~~
For all of you who tried to follow the link to this post that was "published" last night -- but goes to a dead link-- here is my story~~
I was working on this post late last night when our kitty, Homer (now referred to as Bad Boy Homer), jumped up on my computer desk and slid into third base hitting the keyboard -- and something he hit published the post I was working on!!  I had to quickly go in and delete it because it was still "in process!"   Now he is curled up in the computer desk cubby hole -- he says he is sorry!
~~~~~
It's almost time!! Oh My Gosh-- I am working day and night to get all of the blogs loaded in for my Grow Your Blog party -- we have almost 300 so far!  If you want info about the party -- a wonderful opportunity to grow your blog readership and add followers -- the link is on my sidebar.  You have until January 15 to sign up.   Its going to be amazing!

xoxo,
Vicki

No.. gray/grey is not boring. I love the various shades of gray I have used in home decor as well as clothing. Thanks for "esplaining" what happened yesterday when I visited what I thought was your latest post!!!! Poor kitty.

She has no idea how fortunate she is to have you as a grandmother-the grey is so soft and peaceful. I like the pattern also-I am sure she is soft and warm inside her blanket.

Ha-ha! I wondered what happened as I saw that you had a new post but it was the winter garden blanket that kept popping up. Naughty Homer! :) Kady is adorable and her going-home blanket is absolutely incredibly gorgeous. Your creativity and talent is inspiring! Good luck getting everything ready for the blog party. Best wishes for the weekend, Tammy

what a beautiful baby and she is looking so content wrapped up in your very pretty blanket, no grey isn`t boring, it is a very fashionable colour here in England, Sal my granddaughter who is 14 along with her friends say it is the new black

Congratulations Grandma! She is precious and what a beautiful name!
I'm afraid I am an artist of just one pallet. Cross stitch is my only link to any sort of creativity so when I see beautiful things like this blanket you have made it sort of makes me wish I would have had the patience years ago to learn how to crochet or knit. All is not lost....I taught myself to knit only one thing: dishcloths!
:o)

Oh, what an adorable blanket for baby. It's just beautiful.

Grey...that's funny. No not the color, but your question. What does the color Grey mean? I've been doing posts on the Meaning of Color and it just so happens that I just got my post ready for tomorrow...and it's about the Color Grey. Hope you'll stop by after midnight eastern time and check it out! You might be surprised at what Grey means.

Hey Vicki, I'm sitting here typing whilst wearing grey and having peeked into my wardrobe I realise the majority just happens to be grey...so that's it...it's offical. Grey is where it's at!!! ;D

Had to laugh at your Bad Boy Homer sliding into third base ^..^

Looking forward to the party but need to get organised as the time is fast approaching.

A gentle blanket indeed. Such a wonderful gift for a baby, for a family. We still have the blankets made for our son 34 years ago. To touch and smell them is to feel so much.
And your colour is so soft and silvery. The colour of an adored grandparent's whiskers I think.
I do hope the baby was transported home safely and not carried in his mother's arms.

Hi Vicki~
Your blanket is GORGEOUS!!!
And your little Kady is sraight from Heaven! Just beautiful!!!
I posted a blog last night about your Pink Scarf Project. I am so excited to be involved. Not only is my sister~in~law a breast cancer survivor, we are just one year out {this month} from my husband, Scott's, pancreatic cancer. Praise God they are both cancer free. But this cause hits me where I live. Thanks so much for doing this. Is it alright if I make more than 1 scarf for you throughout the year?
Happy Day to you Dear!
Danette
p.s. When I told Hubby I was heading for the yarn shop to buy the goodies to make a scarf for this cause, he dug into his wallet so he could be the one to pay for it! :)))

I was awed by the blanket until I saw the baby...oh my, how precious. And the blanket, too. I wonder how long it will take me to master a pattern like this.

Thank you so much for the link to this pattern! I immediately went there and bought it - thank God for PayPal and the 'net; no waiting. I don't have the yarn yet (and shouldn't be buying more, with so much to use up already); on the other hand, I could use some of my stash and make it whatever size it turns out to be...

Sorry I missed the sign-up; I'll watch for it next year, for sure.

I'll be visiting the blogs over the next while, though. I love making new 'friends'. ~ Linne
