A new "Breast Cancer Awareness Nest"...

October...
the month of pumpkins, acorns, scary costumes,"trick or treat".... and all things orange.
And also PINK.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month...
and no one in our family needs even this as a
reminder.
We will never forget
our beautiful Alicia and her warrior strength
as she fought this demon disease.
She left behind a legacy
of strength and faith for everyone
who loved her.

 In memory of Alicia...
I am creating a new
Breast Cancer Awareness nest.
~
 The second design in this series,
this nest will be beautiful and special above
all others...

 The "Alicia nest"...
will debut NEXT October with very
limited availability.
Once the waiting list is full,
it will be closed.
There will not be extra nests
to sell ...
these will be on a reserved basis
 only.

 In Alicia's memory,
the charitable proceeds from the sale
of this nest
will be donated to her favorite
Breast Cancer Awareness charity...

 It has taken me until now
 to be able to do this...
the creation of this nest
has been my "elephant in the room"
 for the
last few years.
~
Because of her brave battle...
it had been my plan to make
another Breast Cancer Awareness nest
to honor Alicia...
but now,
 this nest will be
created in her memory.
The "Alicia nest" will truly be a labor of love
and one that is filled with
deep emotions.

As always, I can't do this alone..
My best friend Mary, will be helping me..
(we are an awesome team!)
~
We will also be supported
by other talented artisans who will
be joining in the collaboration
of this very special project...
Karen Bailey (Todolwen)
~
I've been collecting BEAUTIFUL items for this nest
for several years...
(vintage and unique)
knowing all the while that someday
I would make this nest.
~
Sadly, I just did not ever expect that it
would be in her memory...

You may email me to be
placed on the waiting list...
vboster1@windstream.net
vboster@yahoo.com

~
The absolutely beautiful and special
"Alicia nest"
will be available in
October NEXT year,
2020.

A note....
Finally, I am retired!! We are so gloriously happy, we are traveling, spending time with our grandchildren, playing in the garden, (retirement has been good for my flowers!!... lol). And of course, my chickens are happy to have me home also!

I've been posting lots of photos on instagram....(It's SO easy you guys). For those of you who do have IG accounts, you can find me there at "2 Bags Full".

I will be back again in a few weeks with some lovely creations for the approaching winter season. (Try as I might, I just can't hang onto summer much longer...)

Thank you to everyone who still visits me here...
xoxo

and make payments on it.
 I will hold it as long as you wish,

 ready.)

~
Wishing everyone a lovely

Introducing the Freebird Nest

The beautiful Freebird nest is here...

 This nest is so special and unique.
The very first Patriotic theme nest in my
"charitable design series".

 I'm so excited (and proud) of this
lovely new nest.

 My idea for this nest
was to combine vintage Americana,
and primitive Americana,
with just a bit of
patriotic bling...

How 'bout that stunning little
 gemstone flag?
(and that beautiful rusty star...)

This nest is the perfect accent
for your patriotic holiday decorations...
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day

 There are so many amazing artists
in my worldwide circle of friends.
~
I am truly blessed to have friends
who desire to share their creative gifts with me
and participate so generously
with my charitable
 projects.
~
My friend Pamela Lancaster created
beautiful fabric yo-yo's from
gorgeous patriotic fabric.
They are fabulous accents in their
beautiful variety of prints.
~
Each nest is embellished with a variety of
Pamela's miniature fabric creations..
They are absolute Americana
perfection.
~

Thank you dear Pamela
for all the efforts and time that you
have devoted to the making of these
precious creations.

My friend Karen Bailey
created these beautiful crochet star garlands.
They are a stunning addition to this patriotic nest.
~
The combination of textures on this
 nest is incredible.
These little stars are truly
one of the most beautiful focal points
of the design.
~
You can find Karen and her stunning creations
on her blog Todolwen
~
Thank you dear Karen
for your amazing contribution.
They are so very beautiful!

 Your nest will arrive beautifully packaged...
as always,
the tissue paper and tags are created
by my talented friend
Sue Kosec.
~
SO many of you are collectors of
her amazing bird tags.
THIS one...
is beyond incredible.
~
Presentation is everything...
and my nests will always
be dressed in the finest of packages!
Only Sue can dress my nests
to perfection!
~
You can find Sue and her
creative card making at her blog

These nests are truly a labor of love.
Their creation is months in the making...
and I cannot do it alone.
~
My best friend Mary
is also my partner in the making of these
"charitable nests".
We have both worked diligently for
many weeks to finish these beautiful nests
in time for your holiday celebrations.
I absolutely could not do this
without her help.
~
She is my everything, every time,
always, and forever...
friend.

Each nest is a unique
and individual
creation.
While the basic design is the same,
no two nests are exactly alike.
~
this is what makes them
 so special...

Every nest is embellished
with a variety of laces,vintage millinery,
rhinestone accents,
vintage buttons,
the MOST incredible vintage star patch,
and lovely patriotic ribbons.

This Patriotic themed nest
is part of my
 "charitable design series".
~
The charitable proceeds will be donated
locally in my hometown to our ladies group
"Carter County Quilts for Veterans".
~
The goal of this incredible group of ladies
is to make beautiful patriotic theme
"Quilts of Valor"
to present to every retired veteran
 in our town.
They are presented in a
lovely ceremony.
~
I am honored to be able to help
further their efforts
with my donation.
I love this nest.
I am proud of what it represents.
Freedom, faith, honor

The nests are listed in my ETSY shop now.
For those of you on my RESERVED list...
(you will find your nest listed
 by your first name and last initial)
~
There are currently 7 nests available
that are NOT reserved.
They are listed as such.
~
These nests will be mailed immediately upon purchase
and will arrive to you in time for your
patriotic holiday
 celebrations.
~~~~
Thank you
for your love and support.
The creation of this nest has truly
given me a great and renewed purpose.
That you love my nests
means everything to me...
xoxo
Vicki
Another new nest is coming!!
A new design in my charitable Designer series will debut in June.
As promised...(way too long ago)...a Patriotic theme nest is now in the works.  The Freebird nest will debut in mid June...(so that you can display the nest during your summer celebrations).
Hello from my heart....(and some nesting updates)
Hello everyone...
 I'm sure that you did not expect to hear from me...
but I wanted to let you know that we are all doing well and...
life goes on...
For the longest time I did not have the spirit to touch my yarns or to tackle a project...but now, I am stronger. A lot has happened since I last posted (over 2 years ago.) My son and the little girls are doing well. They have moved closer and are living in the same town as me, only a few minutes away. God has blessed him with a new love and the little girls have a family with two new sisters and a wonderful "Mommy". They have a new life, a new home, and new reasons to laugh and love. (The little girls are staying overnight at my house as I am writing this... and their giggles and laughter rings all through my home...
The promise of Spring has brought me the desire to begin new projects. I am working on new Woodland nests for spring and will list them in my ETSY shop by early April. I hope to have 12 nests to share with you. If you are interested in a Woodland nest you may email me at vboster@yahoo.com or vboster1@windstream.net to reserve one. I am updating the Woodland nest design and these nests will have some beautiful bling to carry them into Spring.
Regarding the  Freebird Patriotic nest.... it WILL happen this summer. That nest is already in production at this moment. The first one is already finished and it is beyond beautiful.  Those of you who initially ...(so very long ago) requested to reserve one of these nests... will receive an email from me in the next few days asking if you are still interested. If anyone else is interested in reserving one of these nests... simply drop me an email. There will be about 30 nests total to share and approximately 20 of them are already reserved....(or at least they were.) I am sure that many of those will open back up and will be available as it has been so very long since I last made contact with you all.
There is a part of me that can't help but wonder if you have all gone away. I continue to receive emails regarding the nests, however,... I truly don't have a guess as to the interest that might be out there. So--- I am going to make these nests... and then we will see from there.
Regarding the Kindness Quilt Project...
I will say this and then we will speak of it no more....
I could not do it. It was like a giant elephant in the room and I could not move past it. Seeing the huge collection made my heart hurt so bad. It reminded me of all the hopes that we had for Alicia and then the heartbreak that we had to face when we lost her.
For the longest time they sat here and I kept telling myself that I would get strong enough to finish this project. It is so unlike me to not finish something that I start -- especially since so many of you were so generous. But I couldn't... and it was weighing me down. So...
Just a few weeks ago, I gathered up all of your beautiful donations and I sent them to a friend who has a lovely knitting group in her retirement village. That group of ladies put every one of your beautiful squares into a collection of 6 lap quilts. They embellished them and filled them with love and prayers. They were all given to people who truly were in need of a gift of love and kindness. That was the original intent of course.... it was just done by someone else...
and that in itself... was a gift from God.
Now that the quilts have been made and given away...
I feel that I am free of that project. Honestly, I had no idea that it was weighing me down so much. My heart is lighter and I now have the energy and spirit to move forward with my knitting and nesting projects. The prizes that were promised for the Kindness Project are going into the mail next week... so I can now put this project to rest. Thank you for understanding...
You won't find me here at my blog on a regular basis --- only when I have nesting or knitting project news. (It's been so long since I did a blog post, that I almost had forgotten how!!)
I do post regularly on Instagram....almost everyday!! It's so much easier to post there. You can follow me there if you wish on my 2BagsFull page.
I'll be back in a few weeks with photos of the newly designed Woodland nests. I'm so excited for you to see them...
I still love you all...
xoxo
